WHOApril 2013: The World Health Organization (WHO) has made available a Quality Assurance Tool for the assessment of Water Safety Plans (WSPs) to support the development, implementation and assessment of WSPs by highlighting areas of progress and opportunities for improvement.

The excel-based tool aims to support implementation of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality. It was developed as a risk-based, preventive approach to managing drinking water safety from catchment to consumer, in line with the 2009 WSP Manual. The tool was designed to oversee WSP implementation and can also be used to monitor WSP activities of water suppliers. [WHO Water Safety Plan Quality Assurance Tool]
