UNIDO Launches Institute for Capacity Development

The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched the UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development, which was established to offer training on key issues relating to sustainable industrial development, and to serve as a catalyst for innovative solutions, ideas and partnerships needed to achieve inclusive and sustainable patterns of globalization.

UNIDO24 October 2011: The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a new institute in Vienna, Austria, to offer training on key issues relating to sustainable industrial development. The UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development also aims to serve as a catalyst for innovative solutions, ideas and partnerships to achieve inclusive and sustainable patterns of globalization.The Institute will seek to enhance the quality of industrial policy by generating, disseminating and sharing knowledge resources, and building capacities for sustainable industrial development, poverty reduction and accelerated economic growth.

The Institute’s first executive programme will take place later this month under the theme, “On top of the game: global strategies and negotiations towards green growth.” [UNIDO News Release] [Website of the Institute]
