UNFCCC Releases Further Submissions on Financing Results-based Action on REDD+

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions by Malawi and Brazil containing their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions for REDD+.

The submissions will be considered by the AWG-LCA at its 15th session.

7 May 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions by Malawi and Brazil on their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions for REDD+ (FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3/Add.1).

The submissions concern activities related to decision 1/CP.16 (The Cancun Agreements: Outcome of the work of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA)) paragraphs 68-70 and 72 (relating to policy approaches and positive incentives on issues relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries; and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+)). The two submissions are in addition to the 18 submissions from Parties contained in document FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3.

The submissions will be considered by the AWG-LCA at its 15th session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 15-24 May 2012. [Submissions by Malawi and Brazil]
