UNFCCC Releases Further Submission on Financing Results-Based Actions on REDD+

The joint submission from Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, and Sao Tome and Principe, which contains their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions and considering activities related to decision 1/CP.16, paragraphs 68-70 and 72, will be considered by the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) at its 15th session.

21 May 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the joint submission from Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, and Sao Tome and Principe, which contains their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions and considering activities related to decision 1/CP.16, paragraphs 68-70 and 72 (FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3/Add.2).

The submission is made under the agenda item of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) on policy approaches and positive incentives on issues relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks (REDD+).

The joint submission is in addition to the 18 submissions from Parties contained in document FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3, and the two submissions contained in FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3/Add.1.

The submissions will be considered by the AWG-LCA at its 15th session, taking place in Bonn, 15-24 May 2012. [The Joint Submission]
