UNESCO-IHE, ADB Convene First Asia-Netherlands Water Learning Week

The first Asia-Netherlands Water Learning Week, organized by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Water Education (IHE) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), brought together 30 water leaders from Asia in Delft, the Netherlands, to discuss water security and green growth.

30 October 2012: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Water Education (IHE) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) convened water leaders from Asia to explore the issues of water security and green growth during the first Asia-Netherlands Water Learning Week.

The meeting brought 30 ministers, agency Heads and water knowledge leaders together to discuss modernizing water legislation, using green infrastructure, adapting delta population centers to climate change and financing for public-private partnerships. The meeting generated project and programme activity ideas to be developed through partnerships in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.
