4 April 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced that, together with the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), it is organizing its eighth annual course on international environmental law-making and diplomacy. The course is scheduled to take place from 4-16 September 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand, with a thematic focus on “Synergies among Biodiversity-Related Conventions.”

According to UNEP, the two-week course aims to transfer past experiences in the field of international environmental law to current and future negotiators of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). Experienced government officials engaged in international environmental negotiations, as well as representatives of NGOs and the private sector, are expected to attend.
