The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands’ Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) has met from 30 May to 2 June 2006 in Switzerland to take stock of Parties priority tasks for the 2006-2008 and discuss a work programme for carrying out these tasks.

According to a briefing note on the Ramsar website, “six regional networking members and six thematic expert members, with the five members representing the Convention’s International Organization Partners, were joined in a full schedule of plenaries and break-out contact groups by representatives of other MEAs… and other organizations like the FAO, UNEP-WCMC, the Global Water Partnership (GWP), the European Space Agency (ESA-ESRIN), the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), and RIZA (the Netherlands), as well as the Society of Wetland Scientists, The Nature Conservancy, and Ducks Unlimited U.S.A., with additional observers and invited experts.”
