Micronesia Challenge Newsletter Highlights Completion of FSM Communication Plans and Launch of Coral Reef Ambassador Program

According to the Micronesia Challenge Secretariat, the Kosrae Conservation and Safety Organization (KCSO) and the Micronesia Challenge Communications Team participated in a four-day workshop from 19-22 June, in Kosrae, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) that completed the Kosrae Micronesia Challenge Communications Plan and elected a local communications team.

In addition, a workshop was held from 26-29 June, in Pohnpei, FSM, to complete the Ponphei Micronesia Challenge Communications Plan and elect a local communications team.

July 2012: The July 2012 issue of the “Micronesia Challenge Newsletter,” published by the Micronesia Challenge Secretariat, features articles on the completion of the Kosrae and Ponphei Communications Plans and the launch of a coral reef ambassador program.

The newsletter also includes information on the launch of a coral reef ambassador program by the Humatak Community Foundation in Guam. According to the newsletter, the project is designed to support up to twenty 10-17 year old conservation ambassadors, by assisting them in developing mentoring skills so they can pass conservation skills on to their peers.
