The newsletter of the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Research and Development Programme (IEAGHG) highlights new publications on the validation of carbon storage and carbon capture at gas-fired power plants, as well as conferences and IEAGHG partners' projects on carbon capture and storage (CCS).

IEAGHG Newsletter - September 2012October 2012: The September issue of the newsletter of the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Research and Development Programme (IEAGHG) discusses IEAGHG projects and publications on carbon capture and storage (CCS), as well as CCS conferences and CCS projects of IEAGHG partners.

The newsletter highlights several IEAGHG projects and publications, including: a best practice manual for the validation of geological carbon dioxide storage; a study on carbon capture at gas-fired power plants; and a study on operating flexibility of leading power generation technologies with carbon capture. The newsletter also features stories on carbon injection experiments in the EU, the Aquistore project in Canada, and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology’s new Separation Technology Laboratory.

The newsletter also highlights conferences on CCS, such as the Second IEAGHG Joint Network Meeting, the Third International Forum on Transportation of CO2 by Pipeline, the IEAGHG Environmental Assessment of CO2 Storage Workshop, and the CGS Europe CCS-awareness-raising workshop.
