January 2011: The IEA has published a brochure describing all courses available through its Energy Training and Capacity Building Programme, which offers free training programmes for IEA and non-IEA member countries.

The IEA Energy Training and Capacity Building Programme is comprised of: workshops and short courses for small and large groups; individual secondments to the IEA in Paris, France; follow-up activities; online tools and resources; and an alumni network. The brochure outlines courses across 12 areas of IEA expertise, broken down into the categories of analysis, markets, policy, and technologies. Specifically, IEA offers courses on: energy statistics; energy indicators; energy system and scenario modeling; commodity markets; emergency response; carbon markets; energy efficiency policy design; technology roadmaps; carbon capture and storage (CCS); technology policy and collaboration; technology modeling; and renewable energy.
