The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) announced the winners of its Global Landscapes Forum photo competition with first prize awarded to a photo of rice terraces in Yuanyang, China, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

CIFOR18 November 2014: The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) announced the winners of its Global Landscapes Forum photo competition with first prize awarded to a photo of rice terraces in Yuanyang, China, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The winning photo was submitted by Mark Levitin with Ernesto Benavides receiving the runner-up prize. Over 250 photos were submitted for consideration. The competition sought pictures that illustrate multifunction landscapes and the people and politics within them.

Voting for the audience choice awards is open until 1 December 2014. The top twenty-four images will be displayed at the Global Landscapes Forum to be convened 6-7 December 2014 at the margins of the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC.
