CCAFS Calls for Abstracts for Planet Under Pressure Conference

July 2011: The Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security Programme (CCAFS) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has called for the submission of abstracts for the upcoming conference on “Planet Under Pressure 2012: New knowledge towards solutions.”

The meeting will take place in London, UK, from 26-29 March 2012, and will address: the state of the planet; options and opportunities; challenges to progress; and ways ahead. It will include sessions addressing ecosystem services, development pathways and governance at a variety of scales. Submissions will be accepted until 19 August 2011.

The meeting is co-organized by the Global International Geosphere-Biosphere Programmes; Diversitas; the World Climate Research Program (WCRP); and the Earth System Science Partnership. WCRP is a programme under the sponsorship of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the International Council for Science (ICSU).
