Held from 27-30 April 2009, in Bergen, Norway, the third Meeting of the Parties to the Agreement on the Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels (ACAP), developed under the auspices of the Convention on Migratory Species, agreed to add the three North Pacific albatrosses to the list of species covered by the Agreement.

The addition of these three species – Black-footed Phoebastria nigripes, Laysan Phoebastria immutabilis and Short-tailed Phoebastria albatrus albatrosses – means that all albatross species worldwide are now covered by the Agreement.
