Workshop on National Reporting Platforms for Sustainable Development Goals

This workshop addresses reporting and communicating statistics for the SDGs. It is organized jointly by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the UN Statistics Division (UNSD).

The workshop targets the countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) and South‐East Europe (SEE), to enable the sharing of experiences and discuss common challenges related to the reporting and communication of SDG-related statistics. The meeting will provide an overview of progress and challenges for the UNECE region and the EECA and SEE sub-regions, based on a review carried out in February and March 2018. Discussion will focus particularly on global reporting of SDG indicators, and national needs for reporting and public communication. The Workshop will build on the Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development Data (Cape Town) and the CES Road Map on Statistics for SDGs, among other documents.

The workshop takes place just prior to the Second Expert Meeting on Statistics for SDGs (18‐19 April 2018), and will inform its discussions.
