UNGA High-level Event on Youth

UN General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak has announced that he will convene an event on youth. According to his briefing on 12 January 2018, the event will take the form of a dialogue with young people, with a focus on their experiences, challenges, and ideas. The format will include interactive chats, an open mic session, and virtual reality zones. Topics to be covered will include education, employment and opportunities, prevention of violent extremism and radicalization. The concept note for the Youth Dialogue was released on 8 March.

This event is one of three main events related to the implementation of the SDGs that the UNGA President is organizing in 2018. The other two focus on launching the International Decade for Action: Water for sustainable development 2018-2028 (22 March 2018) and SDG financing (in June).
