Third Multi-Hazard Early Warning Conference

The Third Multi-Hazard Early Warning Conference will take place on the theme, ‘From Stock Take to Scaling Actions on Target G: Accelerating the Knowledge and Practice of Early Warning Systems for Risk Informed Resilience.’ As the mid-point of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) 2015-2030 approaches, the Conference aims to provide an opportunity to review key accomplishments, share skills, experience, and expertise within an active network of early warning practitioners.

The Conference is organized by the International Network for Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (IN-MHEWS) in collaboration with several partners, and aims to:

  • Take stock of progress in the implementation of Target G of the Sendai Framework and report on latest trends in multi-hazard early warning system design and results;
  • Identify gaps and challenges in practice, policy, and science to be addressed in future work;
  • Share knowledge, lessons learned, and emerging examples of good practice; and
  • Initiate commitments for scaling up action on early warnings, and promote synergies and partnerships.

The Conference is taking place in parallel with the seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) in Bali, Indonesia.
