The third International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF) will assess progress on the development and deployment of the 2050 Vision for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Lower Carbon Aviation Fuel (LCAF), and other cleaner energy sources for aviation. The meeting will bring together high-level government officials with international organizations with direct involvement in aviation cleaner energy.

The second ICAO CAAF endorsed the 2050 Vision for SAF, and the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly requested the Council to assess its progress as part of the ICAO stocktaking process. The Assembly also asked the Council to define an ICAO global framework in line with the No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative. The first CAAF endorsed the use of sustainable alternative fuels for aviation as an important means of reducing aviation emissions and established the ICAO Global Framework for Aviation Alternative Fuels (GFAAF).

The event will convene as an-person event with hybrid capabilities.
