The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) will bring together world leaders, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to discuss opportunities to build an open, inclusive, and interconnected world for common development. The BRF will convene under the theme, ‘High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity’.
The Forum will feature a keynote speech by President of China, Xi Jinping, and a number of bi-lateral meetings between world leaders. Three high-level forums will take place on connectivity in an open world economy, Green Silk Road for harmony with nature, and digital economy as a new source of growth. Thematic forums will discuss trade connectivity, maritime cooperation, a Clean Silk Road, people-to-people bonds, and sub-national cooperation.
Participants are expected to announce a list of deliverables, including joint projects and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in support of inclusive, sustainable development during the Forum. The Second BRF resulted in a list of 283 deliverables.
