The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Transforming Japan and the World

The United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and Keio University are jointly organizing this symposium. The symposium will present research outcomes of the three-year 'Project on Sustainability Transformation beyond 2015' (Post-2015), which was supported by the Government of Japan's Environment Research and Technology Development Fund. Speakers will discuss the transformation needed to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as a sustainable society, and present their recommendations on how the SDGs should be implemented and reviewed. The speakers include: Norichika Kanie, project leader and senior research fellow at UNU-IAS, Leader of S-11; Hideyuki Mori, President of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES); David Griggs, Monash University; Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, The New School, New York City; and many others. The meeting will be in Japanese and English, with simultaneous translation. Members of the public must register online for this meeting.
