The Congress aims to collectivize urban innovation across the globe and empower cities to face critical challenges, recognizing that the future of humanity is urban.

The City of Barcelona, Spain, has hosted the Smart City Expo World Congress since 2011, with the aim of creating a space for urban innovators to connect, learn, and share ideas for better urbanism around the world.
