The Sixth Session of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Fisheries and Aquaculture Department will meet to consider administrative, financial and budgetary matters, ongoing activities and the Commission’s future priorities.

Discussions will focus on, inter alia: outcomes of relevant meetings; activities related to aquatic genetic resources; implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication; and best practices for cage culture in reservoirs and lakes in the region.
