SIDS Partnership Framework Steering Committee Meeting

The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Partnership Framework Steering Committee supports the follow-up of existing partnerships, and promotes and advocates the launch of new partnerships that advance sustainable development in SIDS. It plays an important role in guiding the partnerships to ensure the full implementation of the Samoa Pathway, the outcome document of the 2014 Third International Conference on SIDS. Chaired by Sebastiano Cardi, Permanent Representative of Italy, and Ahmed Sareer, Permanent Representative of the Maldives, the committee will hold its second meeting in June 2016, after a first meeting that took place on 25 February 2016. The SIDS Partnership Framework was established by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in Resolution A/70/202, following the Samoa Conference. In addition to the steering committee, it includes: a partnership reporting template, and the organization of an annual Global Multi-Stakeholder SIDS Partnership Dialogue.
