The 2022 Asia and the Pacific regional meeting of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) will convene in Dead Sea, Jordan, in July 2022.

The Bureau of the fifth session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) agreed to convene regional meetings in the first semester of 2022 with the following objectives:

• Undertake strategic discussions to prepare for the fourth meeting of the intersessional process considering SAICM and the sound management of chemicals and waste beyond 2020; and
• Facilitate the exchange of regional information and knowledge, reviewing progress towards the current SAICM objectives.
