Roundtable on Climate Finance and the Energy Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Roundtable on Climate Finance and the Energy Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean will bring stakeholders together to discuss a range of climate transition and resilience projects and define practical steps and commitments for implementing and financing them, for presentation at the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 27).

Government officials, policymakers, and experts, as well as high-level representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, and regional and global companies, will come together to examine priority areas for the region, such as the energy transition, electromobility, strategic minerals, and the resilience of Caribbean small island developing States (SIDS).

The event is one of a series of five regional forums taking place ahead of UNFCCC COP 27, on the theme, ‘Towards COP 27: Regional Forums on Climate Initiatives to Finance Climate Action and the SDGs.’ The forums are being organized by the UN system in partnership with the incoming COP 27 Egyptian Presidency and the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP 26 and COP 27. The regional forums focus on convening development cooperation partners and private sector representatives together with countries, initiatives, and platforms looking to raise capital for climate investments to foster greater understanding, bridge the gap between investors and projects in need of investment, and catalyze increased investment in critical climate projects.
