Resumed 33rd Meeting of States Parties to the UNCLOS

The Resumed 33rd Meeting of the States Parties to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) will meet to fill seats on the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf allocated to Commission members from the Eastern European States.

UNCLOS governs all aspects of ocean space and maritime issues, from navigational rights, maritime limits, and marine scientific research to resource management, marine conservation, and dispute settlement. The Convention sets out the legal framework under which all activities in the oceans and seas must be carried out and serves as the basis for national, regional, and global action and cooperation in the marine sector.

The 33rd Meeting originally convened from 12-16 June 2023.
