The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing a 'Regional Capacity-building Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals Modelling for the Least Developed Countries in Asia and the Pacific'. The workshop is part of ESCAP's efforts to support Member States, in particular the least developed countries (LDCs), landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) and small island developing States (SIDS), in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop will focus on managing data in relation to SDG indicators, monitoring and simulating the impacts of policies at the national level, and developing models of various kinds, including macroeconomic models and climate change models. Participants will be from ministries of planning, economics and finance, central banks and related think-tanks in the region.
