The Parliamentary Forum at the 2023 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will focus on the theme, ‘The Mid-point Towards the SDGs: Taking Stock of Parliamentary Action’. The event will discuss the critical role of parliaments in the implementation of the SDGs and discuss opportunities for parliaments to accelerate SDG action in the years ahead, including through parliaments investing more in their own institutional processes. The Forum will share practical illustrations of parliamentary action and innovative solutions for sustainable development.
Organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Forum aims to provide a critical perspective on the role of public policy and the public sector in managing the economy and in responding to people’s needs. The Forum is open to members of parliament attending the HLPF as part of national delegations.
