1-3 May 2019 Suva, Central, Fiji
Pacific Resilience Meeting and EU-GCCA+ Meeting

The Pacific Resilience Partnership (PRP) will convene the inaugural Pacific Resilience Meeting (PRM) under the theme, ‘Youth Futures in a Resilient Pacific’. The event will showcase inspiring examples of youth action, and communities and sectors working inclusively to save and improve lives and protect livelihoods.

The meeting will take stock of the implementation of the Framework for Resilient Development in the Pacific (FRDP), and highlight how communities and countries in the Pacific are strengthening resilience in an era of escalating disaster and climate risks. It will support implementation of the FRDP goals focusing on: strengthened integrated adaptation and risk reduction to enhance resilience to climate change and disasters; low-carbon development; and strengthened disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

The PRM will be held in collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO) Global Climate Change Plus flagship initiative (GCCA+) meeting, and will follow the third Climate Action Pacific Partnership Conference (CAPP III).
