The conference, ‘Paving the Way to the Pact of the Future,’ will feature the launch of the 2024 Sustainable Development Report, which tracks SDG progress. The report is one of several SDG assessments released each year in the lead-up to the the July session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The Sustainable Development Goals Report by the UN Statistics Division (forthcoming) and the UN Secretary-General’s annual report on SDG progress will also inform deliberations during the HLPF.

The conference will also contribute to the Summit of the Future and mobilizing the higher education sector and innovations to advance sustainable development. It will spotlight three enablers for progress on the SDGs: transforming education; engaging youth in a meaningful way; and measuring beyond gross domestic product (GDP).

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is co-hosting the event with SDSN Portugal. A session will also take place with youth organizations in Portugal.
