The UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA), in collaboration with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and UN University (UNU)-Merit, will convene a capacity-building workshop on innovation policies for the SDGs in the Arab region from 15-19 April 2018.

The workshop will focus on, inter alia: the systemic nature of innovation and innovation policy; science, technology and innovation in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; various components of an innovation policy; and conventional and new innovation indicators.
