5-6 February 2024 Rabat, Rabat-Sale, Morocco
High-level Ministerial Conference on Middle-income Countries

Held on the theme, ‘Solutions to Address Development Challenges of Middle-income Countries in a Changing World,’ this high-level ministerial conference is part of Morocco’s presidency of the Group of Friends of Middle-income Countries (MICs) within the UN system. It is organized at the initiative of Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, jointly with the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP).

The conference is expected to address themes that are key for MICs, such as South-South and triangular cooperation, climate financing, innovative sources of financing, and the middle-income trap. It will also provide an opportunity to deepen the debate on how the UN development system, regional and international institutions, and other development partners can support MICs in meeting the challenges of economic and social development.
