The Global Youth Environment Assembly 2022 will take place ahead of the fifth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5) and consider how to enhance meaningful youth engagement. The Assembly will focus on the UNEA-5 theme of “Strengthening Actions for Nature to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”
The Assembly is facilitated by the constituents of the Children and Youth Major Group. The 2022 meeting is expected to produce a Youth Declaration capturing major recommendations from youth on UNEA, the work of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and broader environmental processes.
The 2022 Assembly will take place in a hybrid format, including both in person and online participation. It will take place from 19-20 February 2022 and again for 2 days TBC before 5 March 2022.
