The First Global Forum on Migration and Development, organized by the Government of Belgium, aims to discuss the mutually beneficial interaction of migration and development and the way development can contribute to better managed migration and migration can contribute to development. The forum will start with a day dedicated to meetings of civil society representatives followed by governmental discussions on 10 and 11 July. The Forum will focus on maximizing opportunities and minimizing risks of labor mobility; on remittance and diaspora resources; and on the promotion of partnerships.
