Fourth Global Climate and SDG Synergy Conference

The Fourth Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Fourth Global Climate and SDG Synergy Conference) will take place under the theme, ‘Delivering a Just Transition through Climate and SDG Synergies’. The event will bring together representatives of UN Member States, UN agencies, civil society, the private sector, and other stakeholders to assess progress made on a set of key recommendations from the Third Global Conference, including the need to include principles of just transition at the center of integrated planning.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the UNFCCC Secretariat convene the event. The Conference will result in a summary with a set of recommendations for enhancing synergistic implementation of the SDGs and climate action at both political and practical levels and a set of empirical evidence on the co-benefits of the SDGs and climate action, including how Member States are delivering jointly on these two agendas.

The event will take place as a special event in the margins of the 2023 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
