The first Global Workshop for the 2024 Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) will bring together officials from finance ministries, statistical offices, and planning and other ministries and institutions engaged in preparing their countries’ VNRs for the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable development (HLPF) in July 2024. Countries will share experience and knowledge and discuss specific issues and challenges in the VNR preparation.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is organizing the event, which will be hosted by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The event will also raise awareness among government officials on the importance of monitoring progress and integrating the SDGs into national plans and policies. Forty-four countries will present their VNRs in 2024.
