The expert group meeting (EGM) on SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) is one in a series taking place in preparation for the July 2019 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). HLPF 2019 will conduct in-depth reviews of SDGs 4, 8, 10, 13 and 16, in addition to Goal 17, which is reviewed each year.

A stocktaking of SDG 8 will also take place during a high-level luncheon in New York, US, on the occasion of the high-level UNGA commemorative meeting on the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (ILO), on 10 April 2019.
