Consultative Meeting on the Third UN Conference on LLDCs

The Consultative Meeting on the Third Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) will facilitate an informal exchange of views among Permanent Representatives of the LLDCs, transit countries, and Friends of LLDCs, and select experts on key priorities, possible outcomes, and deliverables of the third UN Conference on LLDCs (LLDC3). The meeting will feature interactive thematic sessions on the following topics:

  • Seizing the transformative potentials of trade, trade facilitation, and regional integration for sustainable development of LLDCs;
  • Deepening resilient connectivity and promoting unfettered transit system to improve LLDCs’ competitiveness in regional and global trading system;
  • Enhancing adaptation capacity and strengthening resilience to address the worsening impacts of climate change in LLDCs; and
  • Mobilizing domestic and external resources and fostering access to technologies for the effective implementation of the New Programme of Action for LLDCs and the SDGs.

The Office of the High Representative for Least Developed Counties (LDCs), LLDCs, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) (UN-OHRLLS) is convening the consultative meeting and will prepare a summary on emerging areas of convergence from the working sessions.
