The first Blue Africa Summit will bring together political leaders and representatives from major African coastal cities and regions with economic stakeholders, scientists, maritime users, and civil society actors to discuss challenges in Africa’s maritime domain, with the aim of agreeing on a roadmap.

The Summit will engage participants in developing innovative, transformative actions for their coastlines, including through regional cooperation projects, and develop sustainable economic and financial models. The Summit will encourage initiatives that combine scientific expertise, civic commitment, and development to protect the ocean.

The Summit is taking place under the patronage of the King of Morocco, Mohamed VI.
