53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting

The 53rd Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meeting will focus on the theme, ‘A Transformative and Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now.’ The Forum will bring together leaders to discuss and agree on policies to benefit the people of the Pacific region. The Government of Tonga will host the Forum, and Tonga’s Prime Minister Hu’akavemeiliku Siaosi Sovaleni will chair the meeting.

The Forum meets annually to develop collective responses to regional issues and deliver on a vision for a resilient Pacific Region of peace, harmony, security, social inclusion, and prosperity that ensures all Pacific people can lead free, healthy, and productive lives. As Chair, Tonga aims for the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting to move beyond policy deliberation to implementation, to achieve transformation by building better now.

The Pacific Islands Forum comprises 18 members – Australia, the Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea (PNG), the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
