3rd World Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation

The 3rd World Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation will bring together representatives from government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), research and academia, the private sector and development agencies to discuss the role of climate change adaptation in addressing poverty and ensuring sustainable livelihoods. The event aims to:

  • showcase climate change adaptation-related work;
  • foster the exchange of information, ideas and experiences acquired in the execution of climate change adaptation projects, especially successful initiatives and good practice;
  • discuss methodological approaches and experiences deriving from case studies and projects that aim to show how the principles of climate change adaptation may be implemented in practice; and
  • allow the participants to explore possibilities for cooperation.

The Symposium is a joint initiative by the Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigeria, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, and the Research and Transfer Centre ‘Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management’ of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, in cooperation with the International Climate Change Information Programme (ICCIP).
