This biennial International Conference on Women will take place under the theme, ‘Promoting Gender Equality through Economic Empowerment: Implementing the Post-2015 Development'. The Conference will address targets and indicators to promote economic growth and employment within the context of the post-2015 development agenda. Participants will discuss: lessons learned from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and good practices in promoting economic development; national perspectives on sustainable economic growth; financing, data and measurement; the promotion of economic empowerment through gender sensitive entrepreneurship; the effect of unpaid care on women's opportunities; and policy recommendations. Amina Mohammed, the UN Secretary-General's Special Advisor on Post-2015 Development Planning, will serve as a keynote speaker. Participants will also visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and meet with Israel's President. Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) is organizing the Conference in cooperation with UN Women and the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
