17th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology

Convened by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (BCRC China) and co-hosted by Tsinghua University, Solid Waste and Chemical Management Technology Center MEE, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific, with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the 17th International Conference on Solid Waste Management and Technology will provide technical support for the construction of Zero-waste Cities in China. As part of its 14th five-year plan, China aims to build Zero-waste Cities in 100 prefecture-level cities to meet the national requirements of carbon peaking and carbon-neutral development.

The event will bring together senior experts and top government officials from China and abroad under the theme, ‘Synergizing the Reduction of Pollution and Carbon Emissions,’ to discuss issues related to solid waste, chemicals, and the circular economy.
