14th Session of the IRENA Assembly (Part II)

The 14th session of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Assembly (Part II) will focus on the theme, ‘Outcome of COP 28: Infrastructure, Policies, and Skills for Tripling Renewables and Accelerating the Energy Transition’. The meeting will discuss the findings of the first Global Stocktake (GST) at UNFCCC COP 28 and consider how to chart a strategic way forward.

The 14th session of the IRENA Assembly is taking place in two parts, on an exceptional basis. The 14th session of the IRENA Assembly (Part I) convened virtually on 15 January 2024.

The IRENA Assembly brings together Heads of State and Government, ministers, and energy decision makers among its membership and States-in-Accession, as well as multilateral organizations, global stakeholders, and private actors, to take stock of operational plans and policies and highlight the concerted action undertaken to implement the energy transition across countries, regions, and the world.

The Assembly Session will mark the Fourth World Energy Transition Day and convene in parallel with the World Future Energy Summit (WFES). The Assembly will feature ministerial and high-level sessions to facilitate interactions between decision makers on the energy transition and to inform IRENA’s future work. The event will also feature a Legislators Forum, Public-Private Dialogue, and Youth Forum to provide opportunities for insights and discussions with and among actors that are key to collectively achieving a just and inclusive future, based on renewables.
