The 12th International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) will be held on the theme, ‘Solutions for the Future’. The Conference aims to bring together individuals from research, policy, practice, and business in advance of the 2024 Summit of the Future to share practice solutions for achieving the SDGs at local and national levels.

The Global Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) are co-organizing the conference, with support from the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the European Commission, and other partners. ICSD 2024 will be held in hybrid format, with plenary sessions taking place in person in New York, US, and parallel sessions taking place virtually. 

ICSD 2024 will focus on seven themes:

• Amplifying all voices for SDG achievement, including intergenerational dialogues to improve policy and accountability;
• Digitalization;
• Climate change, including nature-based solutions (NbS) for local climate challenges and energy and land-use pathways;
• Cities and communities, including mainstreaming climate change and disaster risk reduction (DRR) in urban and rural planning;
• Agri-food systems, including reducing waste to end hunger;
• Advancing impactful research and education; and
• Enhancing governance in diverse sectors.
