The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) have launched a library of all sessions held as part of the SDG in Practice series from 2021 until today. The resource serves as a practical tool for policymakers, practitioners, and educators that showcases tested approaches to accelerate SDG implementation.

The SDGs in Practice series convenes as a special event to the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). By providing a dedicated space for applied knowledge sharing, skills building, and collaboration to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs over the course of the past ten years, the series has equipped policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders with knowledge and skills to support SDG implementation.

Building on the decade of learning, the 2026 edition is “a moment for reflection, consultation and forward-looking exchange on the capacities most needed to support implementation in the remaining years to 2030 and beyond.”

To respond to the growing urgency to accelerate progress as the 2030 deadline approaches – and to mark a decade of learning through the series – the event launched the SDGs in Practice Learning Library, bringing together the full record of sessions over the past ten years into one platform. The platform aims to provide policymakers, practitioners, and educators with tested approaches to accelerate SDG implementation. Users can filter by series/year, SDGs, and themes, or search for specific sessions.

The 2026 edition of SDGs in Practice convened fully virtually, to enable broad participation and ensure accessibility for participants from all countries and diverse stakeholder groups.

HLPF 2026 convenes from 7-15 July on the theme, ‘Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all.’ It is conducting in-depth reviews of SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the Goals).

Thirty-six countries are presenting voluntary national reviews (VNRs) of national SDG implementation. [SDG Knowledge Hub HLPF 2026 Curtain Raiser] [SDG Knowledge Hub Story on Webinar Preview of HLPF 2026]
