Representatives from governments, water utilities, small water providers, NGOs and development partners met at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in Manila, Philippines, on 17-18 April 2008, to discuss lessons from implementing pilot projects for Small Piped Water Networks (SPWN).

The Regional Forum on Innovations for Connecting the Poor: SPWN presented different approaches to deliver 24 x 7 piped water supplies to poor communities and introduced a draft SPWN toolkit, which provides detailed instructions on applying the SPWN model. SPWNs can help achieve the Millennium Development Goals on sustainable access to safe drinking water in the Asia-Pacific region.
