RIO+20 - The Future We Want12 June 2012: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has issued a video message on “the future I want,” discussing the potential for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) to help build a future based on shared aspirations.

Ban says he speaks as a father and grandfather, and envisages a world where everyone has clean air, access to safe water, enough to eat, access to education, and can live with dignity and make a living. He encourages viewers to tell the world about the future they want. The UN Secretary-General’s message was recorded as part of the UN’s “Future We Want” Campaign ahead of Rio+20.

Also as part of the Campaign, a “Future We Want” Wall has been opened at the Conference. The wall is positioned at the Conference entrance, where over 50,000 participants are expected to pass daily, and have the opportunity to write messages on the wall.
