afdb-cifor16 August 2013: The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) have announced progress on the CIFOR-COBAM radio program, which presents information on the links between climate change and forests in Cameroon, enabling local populations’ access to the latest climate science and policy developments.

The programs under the ‘Changing Seasons’ series, carried by Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) cover issues such as the myths and realities of climate change, the links between forests, deforestation and climate change, and pollution, forests and climate change. Each program includes a debate on the topic of the month with invited guests from academia, government agencies, and intergovernmental organizations.

CIFOR is a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). [Publication: Changing Seasons: Using the radio as a means of communicating and exchanging knowledge on the fight against climate change in the Congo Basin Forests] [COBAM Project Website]
