14 September 2017: The President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Marie Chatardová, has announced that the list of countries to present their Voluntary National Reveiws (VNRs) at the July 2018 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is closed. A total of 48 countries have announced their intention to present VNRs during HLPF 2018.

The countries who will present VNRs in July 2018 are: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Benin, Bhutan, Cabo Verde, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Guinea, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mali, Malta, Mexico, Namibia, Niger, Paraguay, Poland, Qatar, Republic of the Congo, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, State of Palestine, Sudan, Switzerland, Togo, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Uruguay, and Vietnam.

Forty-three countries presented VNRs at HLPF 2017. Twenty-two countries presented VNRs at HLPF 2016. ECOSOC President Chatardová invited interested countries who had not yet signed up to consider volunteering in 2019 or subsequent years.

In addition to considering VNRs, HLPF 2018 will review the implementation of SDG 6, SDG 7, SDG 11, SDG 12, SDG 15 and SDG 17.

In addition to considering VNRs, HLPF 2018 will review the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (clean water and sanitation), 7 (clean energy), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 12 (responsible consumption and production) and 15 (life on land). HLPF 2019 will review the implementation of Goals 4 (quality education), 8 (decent work and economic growth), 10 (reduced inequalities), 13 (climate action) and 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions).
