27 June 2018: UN Climate Change has launched a web version of its first-ever annual report. The new website includes videos, photos and infographics illustrating the key 2017 achievements and highlighting linkages among the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement on climate change and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
Initially launched on 30 April at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany, the report covers areas of the 2017 work of UN Climate Change, including the UNFCCC, Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement, as well as their bodies, institutional arrangements, organs and the Secretariat.
Looking forward to 2018, the web version of the report highlights calls for increasing the number of ratifications of the Doha Amendment to the Kyoto Protocol so it can enter into force, urges engagement in the Talanoa Dialogue which will inform and inspire Parties as they increase their commitments, and looks forward to adopting the outcomes of the Paris Agreement Work Programme (PAWP) at the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 24) to the UNFCCC in December 2018.
